Last weekend, on Saturday May 25th 2019 at 9:58 am we have reached 100 000 TEU in yearly throughput!
At that moment we've had two vessels berthed at AGCT – 295 m long cruiser Mein Schiff 6 and 353 m long Maersk Herrera, one of the newly deployed H-class Maersk vessels calling Rijeka within the direct 2M Alliance weekly service to/from Far East.
„2M Alliance“ is the vessel-sharing agreement launched in 2014 by Maersk line and MSC on major world trade routes, including the service connecting Adriatic and Far East ports, referred as „AE12“ by Maersk and „Phoenix“ by MSC.
Hamburg Sud joined the alliance earlier this year, and the first containers started to arrive in Rijeka in May.
So it happened that the 62 814th container which we handled this year, and which has marked the 100 000 TEU is one of Hamburg Sud's!
