AGCT (Adriatic Gate Container Terminal) representatives visited KBC Rijeka earlier today to donate a new ECG device to the Clinic for Radiotherapy and Oncology. Trends in treatments have shown interdependence between chemotherapy and heart condition, hence this ECG (electrocardiogram) device is a great asset to the Clinic where it will be used on daily basis before and after chemotherapy sessions on patients.

AGCT CEO Emmanuel Papagiannakis noted, Croatia is unfortunately among the top ten countries with the highest cancer mortality rate for curable cancers. We know many more Croatians could survive and beat cancer if diagnosed on time. This is why we have kicked off an internal awareness campaign and through a series of activities encourage the importance of regular health checkups and early detection. At the same we would like to thank the dedicated medical staff in Rijeka which provide treatments and better outcomes for those suffering from illness.

“I take this opportunity to thank AGCT which is, with this valuable donation of ECG device to the Clinic for Radiotherapy and Oncology, expressing social responsibility. This donation will improve treatment conditions and help work with particularly vulnerable groups of patients. Modern oncology is increasingly associated with the early detection of cardiovascular reactions to chemotherapy, which gives this donation an extra dimension and provides greater safety for our patients. ”- pointed out during the handover of the device the director of KBC Rijeka prof. dr. sc. Alen Ružić.

Head of the Clinic for Radiotherapy and Oncology prof.dr.sc. Ingrid Belac Lovasić, MD added: “I would like to thank AGCT on a valuable donation to the Clinic for Radiotherapy and Oncology. The donated ECG device will greatly help us work with our cancer patients and improve treatment conditions. This donation shows the awareness and social sensitivity of our society and the desire to improve the conditions and outcomes of treatment of cancer patients. "

We are proud to have the opportunity to support local medical community in the fight against cancer and to draw attention to the importance of its timely detection. With regular visits to medical examinations and controls, cancer can be detected in time and thus cured, which we can confirm ourselves based on personal experience - said the representatives of AGCT.
