On July 1st 2013 Republic of Croatia became the 28th member of the European Union, and we at AGCT have welcomed that day with joy and fully prepared.
After lengthy preparations and cooperation with the Croatian Customs, we have aligned procedural changes that the membership in EU brings, and the new customs regulations have entered into force. Late last week series of meetings and workshops were held with our partners – shipping agents and freight forwarders, in order to be prepared for all the changes that July 1st brings along.
The news that the EU is bringing to us regarding cargo from / to EU destinations: Croatian Custom’s procedures are fully aligned with EU customs procedures, cargo destined for any EU destination can be cleared at AGCT and interstate borders (customs checks) for the transport of goods have been discontinued resulting in no more delays.
All mentioned above gives a positive impact - the flow of goods is uninterrupted resulting in shortened transit time. It is also important to mention that for the goods traveling to destinations in countries that are not EU members – there are no procedural changes.
