Members of the “OCEAN THREE” alliance, which has been running regular weekly service connecting Rijeka and the Far East since February 2015, decided in October this year to merge the Adriatic service with their Far East – Black Sea service.
As a result of these two services consolidation, partners of the OCEAN THREE alliance adapted ie, reduced the number of ports in rotation in order to maintain current transit time. Hence the decision was made that in the Adriatic this service will only call Koper and Trieste.
This decision is temporary and the alliance returns to Rijeka with weekly direct service from the Far East in April 2017 under a new name, "OCEAN ALLIANCE".
Some members of the new alliance (CMA-CGM, COSCO, EVERGREEN, OOCL) have already announced in early October (11.03.2016.) the new routes and rotation entering into force on April 1st 2017. The announcement states that Rijeka will be part of the Adriatic – Far East direct service called MED5.
The current partners of the “OCEAN THREE” alliance (CMA - CGM, COSCO, UASC) and the members of the new “OCEAN ALLIANCE " (along with the already mentioned, Evergreen, MOL, OOCL) will continue calling Rijeka as part of other services. Hence from this week instead of the Ocean 3 vessel on Tuesday, we expect the following schedule of arrivals:
