Mooring buoy which will allow even larger container vessels to call Rijeka arrived today at AGCT. This specially constructed buoy will be anchored north-east from the AGCT's quay wall end.
Preliminary design was made by Rijekaprojekt d.o.o. according to the order of the Port of Rijeka Authority. The mooring position consists of a buoy equipped with a hook for mooring, anchor rope and anchor location. Buoy capacity is 300 t, and the dimensions are 7,0m x 8,80m x 4,0m.
In addition to the 14,2 depth in front of the new quay this buoy will allow AGCT to serve even larger vessels than the 334 m record holders that we've been seeing in the last past weeks.
