Following recently signed Contract for AGCT’s South Berth dredging, construction works on the Quay wall started earlier this week. Therefore, new mode of container terminal vessel operations comes into force, where in the coming period during the works, we will be able to handle vessel operations on Berth 2 only.
We have taken all measures to adapt to new operations mode with as little impact as possible to the entire transport chain, also ask for your & all stakeholder cooperation and understanding in order to overcome the upcoming operational challenges as easily as possible.
Let us remind you that work’s completion on seabed deepening at a length of 100 meters along the coastal southern wall will equalize the sea depth at 428 m of AGCT’s operative Quay. This will remove current operational restrictions on handling the largest (15,000 TEU capacity) container vessels calling Rijeka today, allowing maximum utilization of their capacity and at the same time increasing the capacity and competitiveness of the entire Rijeka traffic route.
