Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), a major South Korean shipowner, has established a new connection with Rijeka, Croatia, using connecting transshipment in Piraeus with new offices established in Rijeka and Belgrade. This new service offers direct connections with Asian and Indian ports, providing short transit times for cargo from Far East and the Indian subcontinent to reach their final destinations in Central Europe.
This is not the first time HMM has operated in Rijeka, as it was part of an alliance between four carriers operating between Asia and Rijeka from 2010 to 2012. With the introduction of this new stand-alone FIM service and its extension to Rijeka, HMM anticipates delivering more efficient and reliable sea transportation to its customers.
